Playbook charging

Currently my mom is using my Playbook. When she charges it at night. It only charges to about 60%. When she uses it during the day it lasts for several hours on the internet and reading/sending mail. She is using the magnetic charger. OS the latest.

I see two possible causes:
1) the battery is wearing out, not good news, but not (I think) the most likely cause;
2) the charging circuit has lost track of where the battery is. If this is the case a power off reboot and letting in run almost all the way down and charging it back up should fix it.
