Default Any issues with Mapquest Nav (sprint BES) - 11-27-2007, 08:16 AM

Anyone had issues with Sprint 8830 (bes) Mapquest Nav?

Mine is asking to set permissions everytime I open it (yes I checked the boxes, saved and reset)

Tried taking it out and downloading again?

anyone else?

Thanks in advance

Just spoken Mapquest again, they have had 4-5 people call in regarding the same situation.

Looks like they need to do some more work on the program for BES users?

**The CS rep seems to think its only sprint bes customers who are having issues

I have A&T and have this issue, I've been on the phone with Mapquest several times trying to figure this out. The CS rep at Mapquest seemed to think this problem is only related to BES users. I have a personal device, not BES...I don't think. I'm very new to BBs. I got mine used, so I don't know if there is some setting somewhere that can switch it over.

Take a look at this helpful thread to make sure you do not have any latent IT policies on your device:

Default New Mapquest Navigator Build - 12-14-2007, 08:39 AM

They just emailed me and let me know about the new build available. I put it on my phone (that was previously having issues with it) and it works great!

OTA download from their site is no longer available, however, I did extract the COD from my device and made a file available on rapidshare.

I got an email from Mapquest today stating they had a new version to address the issues and they provided a new download site.

HOWEVER, the new version is WORSE that the old! I try to save permissions, it loops back around, and when I save a 2nd time, it freezes the Blackberry.

I pulled the battery and tried to discard the changes, it looped around and when I tried to discard a 2nd time, the BB froze. Had to pull the battery again.

Previously, thought I had the permissions show up twice, it was at least usable, now it is wrothless.

Oops...just noted, that the 8100 compatible version isn't posted.

How nicely would I have to ask to get you to put it up somewhere? (I.e., how many "pretty please" would I have to include...

I second the request! Would be most grateful if you could post the version compatible with the 8100.

Hmm, I think I can do that. Tomorrow while I'm at the office I'll grab a coworker's phone and I can extract it from his device. It's a sprint 7130, but I've seen that version loaded on the 8100s and it works just fine.

So let me extract it off his phone and I can post up another rapidshare link to the 71xx/81xx version of the old free software.

Sorry guys, give me one more day. The owner of the BB I needed to get it from was out today. He will be in tomorrow as I gave him a call. I'll grab it in the AM and get it on here for you anxious folk.
