I downloaded the files but can't them to the Curve through the Desktop Manager. My first attempt (just installing the alx file) ended with an error message saying not enough room. I couldn't get it to reconize the other file. Now when I attempt to add the alx file it says no additional applications found for your device.

Any comments appreciated.

I was just about to uninstall, after seeing problems with map data a week ago. Looks like it may have just been a temporary glitch, as I have used the program to navigate all this week.

You need to load the OS for your device on the computer where you run your Desktop Manager

Are you trying to download from Post #1 in your device browser? If so, you need to download the zip files to your computer and install using the Desktop Manager.

If you have never done this before, please note on my previous post that you need to also install the Device OS on your computer as well.

I'd like to use it but I live in Italy: so does it work over in europe or not?

Has anyone been able to get this working with a 8700c and Freedom 2000? It doesn't want to see my puck, even though all of the other apps do. What am I missing or doing wrong? Thanks!!

Is this still working for anyone? I haven't got it to work at all. It keeps saying poor GPS signal even though I am using GPS with Nav4All.

30 day FREE trial of the newest version here http://mapquestdtc.telmap.com/ctia/ Ends today. It's worth the 30 days to try it out.

Downloaded, off and running...not a bad deal.

My earlier question still stands, though. Is there anyone out there who is using an 8700 and the older 'free' version? If so, how did you get MapQuest to see your GPS puck. It's still not seeing mine...although the new 5.0 version does!

I keep getting "free trial is over contact customer support" message. Is there a fix for this or has it gone to where you have to pay now? any help?

I believe it is only the pay version and they have cut off the old version. I am still on my 30 day free trial for the newest version. I REALLY like it a lot better and I am considering getting it. For $49 bucks for a year I don't think you can go wrong. Until Google releases a free version someday hopefully.

There seems to be some mechanism where the free trial period expires, and you must pay after that point.

I have been using the service for three months now, and can still access routes and map data. I haven't done a ton of routes, so my guess is they may turn off the trial once you've downloaded a certain number of routes.

I also believe they tie your PIN to the trial, so uninstalling/reinstalling the software would not reset your trial period.

Never Mind....I was still pointing to my old PIN's ALX folder...it's installing now. Hopefully it will find my puck this time!!

Nope....No joy. Not finding my puck and gives me the 'Trial has ended' error. I'm going to try the uninstall/reinstall method somebody mentioned earlier and if that doesn't work- oh, well!

Why does it matter what carrier you have to use the new Mapquest? it's just using data and accessing my BT puck...are Verizon customers shut out?
