Default GPS not working on google maps

Please Login to Remove!

When ever I hit my location on google maps it still has a blue ring around the solid blue ball. I have a 8130 and it has GPS, that supposedly is active. How do I get the GPS to run and not the radio towers?

Make sure you are outside in an area with a clear view of the sky. If you go to Options >Advanced Options >GPS does it show in there?

Unless you're with Verizon. In which case, they have disabled the GPS in the firmware, so that it only works with VZNav.

There is one report on here that, if you pay for VZNav, and have it running, then switch over to Google Maps, GM will be able to access the GPS. But, other than that possibility, there is no way to use the built-in GPS in a Verizon 8130 other than paying for (and using) VZNav.

(and did I mention that that really sucks?)

Oh, sorry, I see now that your profile says you're with Alltel. (Dang! I'm going to get a rep around here for not being able to read!)
