No...deleted the older version, and then opened the browser icon pushed from ATT

I'm running GPS Nav, Bell Mobility's branded Telenav product, which also received an update this past week. The new version of GPS Nav offers Traffic information: speed, congestion, accident reports, etc.

Perhaps the non-branded Telenav update includes the same enhancements?

So, the 5.1.0.75 version for the 8320 is 810KB and the 5.1.1.15 version for the 8300 is 947KB. Anyone know what the differences are yet?

Downloading now for the 8820

*Update: Delete the old version first. My 8820 kept crashing when I tried to do an upgrade.

Default Problem with 5.1.1.15 Drive To feature - 02-09-2008, 06:29 PM

I managed to download and install the new version on my 8310 last evening and found that now the Drive To menu option from my Contacts folder no longer works. When you select it from your Contacts menu it loads Telenav but the program freezes on the main menu. I have contacted Telenav support but have not had any reply yet. If you use this feature, I would suggest staying with your current version. I wish I had. (If anyone has access to the 5.1 .jad file I would appreciate a copy to revert back and wait for Telenav technical to figure this one out...)

UPDATE: I have found that the real issue is that MS Outlook uses "United States of America" as the default country code in Contacts. Telenav "Drive To" and "Map It" features from Contacts menu will work fine with contacts using nothing or "United States" or "USA" but NOT "United States of America." I do not believe this was the case with the prior version. If your contacts do not have "United States of America" in the address, you should be fine with the new release. Hopefully, Telenav tech gurus can fix this for those of us using Outlook.

Loaded this on my 8800 last night. Works fine. Some differences I've noticed so far:

The recent places menu is a little different. I can't decide if thats good or bad.

Some of the audio samples for voice directions seem different too.

One last thing I noticed, which seems pretty annoying so far, is that "traffic optimized" is not the default option when selecting a destination. Instead it prompts me to choose traffic optimized, and has "fastest" as the default trip option.

Anyone else notice anything?

Sort of, you probably have to reset your preference to "Traffic Optimized" if thats what you had it as before. I found it quite annoying since i like "Fastest" as my default. But after it prompts you 2-3 times it doesnt ask you again.

Thanks for the info. Set the default to traffic optimized. Sweet.
