Default Got my GPS Reciever...Cant get TeleNav To Work. - 02-20-2008, 12:04 PM

Im wanting to try the 30 day trial out without using a CC and I can't seem to do that. Any way to do this? I found a link to one of the TeleNav downloads, downloaded it via BlackBerry, but It asks for WAP information. I dont have T-Zone, and dont plan on getting it. Any help?

Have you configured the APN setting in Options > Advanced Options > TCP?

What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

I did that. When I start TeleNav, It asks for WAP info. It already has T-Mobile (my provider) selected and wap.voicestream.com filled in and a blank username and password. It downloads the Terms or whatever, and stops at 70% or so and says that It can't connect to the server.

I used to get that as well some times when I used to use it. I believe, in the preferences, there is an option to change the connection type. I put mine to BIS and it seemed to work better for me.

I can't even remember because it was about 2 months ago when I used it. I have since started using the free MapQuest Navigator program. Sorry. I know there are some others here who air the program. Hopefully they will chime in.

By BIS, you mean the blackberry plan? I don't have that. I only have a 1GB memory, T-Mobile, And Wifi at my house.

Oh okay, thought you had the plan. Sorry about that. You might want to check with the TeleNav support if you don't find out something here. You seem to have everything set the same as I did, except no data plan. I don't know if this will work without some sort of data plan. You might have to get the $5.99 data plan from T-Mobile.

I am not sure really how it works to be honest. You might want to contact their support to find out if a data plan of some sorts is actually required in order for it to work. Or it might be in one of their manuals somewhere.

So buy The Tmobile Web for 5.99/month? Will that be enough then? Don't want overcharges or anything
