Question TeleNav question re: month-to-month? - 05-03-2008, 01:35 PM

Quick question (please move or redirect if in another thread; did search):

If I want to use TeleNav one month and not the next (traveling intermittently), is that possible?

I'm most likely not getting a BB plan, and already have a data plan. I don't travel out of state every month, and already have GPS in my car, and can utilize Google Maps in town (if I even need to) for local travel. Thanks.

If you subscribe, you'll be billed each month. There is no provision for a month by month service.

To be sure, I'd ask Telenav customer service. Any of us can guess but unless we know Telenav's policy, we could lead you the wrong way. Telenav contacts are at...

That would be a nice for them to have a month to month setup.

So, I don't get it. I'll ask, but so you sign up for a year, or what?

Thanks.

I don't know that there is a term of 12 months, but Telenav subscribes you to their service with the expectation of getting revenue from you each month.

Call them and explain your circumstances. The worst they can do is tell you "No, we don't do that sort of thing".

Q: How do I cancel TeleNav?
A: To cancel your TeleNav service, please call Customer Care at 888.353.6284 for assistance. Customers who are direct-billed through Nextel can also cancel their TeleNav plan by calling Nextel at 866.265.8305.

Hmm. Do people really pay every month for a service they may or may not use every month and forget about it?

It's billed monthly, but it's not month to month as in you pay this month, not pay next month and come back on the following month. It's a monthly subscription, not a pay as you go.

Again, I'll check, but there's no agreement that you're beholden for any extended time, yes? Just that it's sort of a mutual agreement (like the landline, gas, electric) that you pay, and it gets shut off if you don't; but it's certainly better to communicate any usage.

Yeah?

Thanks.

Right, you can cancel at any time. I'm not sure about the restrictions of activating then canceling and reactivating.
