If you have a newer BB with GPS (such as Pearl 8130), you can track your phone online in real-time. See this demo

InstaMapper - GPS Tracking

The tracking service is 100% free.

I dowloaded this to my 8320 and get an error starting the app that says "Error starting GPSTracker: Module GPSTracker has verification error 2953 at offset 126a"

I might not be running a supported OS.

Was this a one post hit and run? Is this for built in gps units only or will BT gps units work?

John,

Not sure what that error means. I have a 8130 from Sprint and it works fine out of the box. It's a wild guess, but can "verification error" mean that your phone does not allow 3rd party apps due to security settings? There is not much information on Google about "error 2593".

I haven't tried BT gps units yet. My guess is that they wouldn't work, but I could be wrong.

Running my "unsupported OS" I have issues with BES v4.1.3. I'm not able to change some permissions, even though my IT policy allows it. It's possible that is the issue. I did get it to load to a Pearl with the same OS.

So has anyone found this service useful? Any feedback?
