Default Google Maps GPS Question - 02-12-2009, 01:11 PM

I've searched high and low for an answer on this, but either I'm searching on the wrong terms, or...

I remember Google Maps allowing you to select a GPS in previous versions -- I'm not seeing that anywhere in 3.x.

So is the only way for Google Maps to see the GPS for me to run BlackBerry Maps at the same time? Seems like a waste of battery/memory/CPU.

Thanks!

I don't recall seeing that option to select a GPS but the last version that 'saw' my external BT puck was 2.2.1. It's still available for download.

I'm looking for the same thing. I just installed Mapquest Navigator 2.3, the old free version, that has now expired????. Well anyway, it automatically detects satelites. If you find any info pass it on.

Are you sure you're not confusing Options->Advanced Options->GPS with a Google Maps option? I've never seen any option within Google Maps to select the GPS Source.

Google Maps should run fine on its own. I've never had to open BB Maps (I don't even have it) to run Google Maps.
