Default garmin - is it possible to backup locations? - 02-19-2009, 02:38 PM

Hi is anyone else using garmin on their BB.

I am and actually like it a lot. It works very well (in the UK).

One big niggle I have is that I cannot for the life of me work out how to back up 'my favorites'. I have just lost them all after a hard reset and don't want this to happen again.

Does anyone know:
What needs backing up to preserve them?
If the backing up of third party apps (the switching blackberry method) would do it?

Also has anyone managed to activate a 'Mobile Manager Account'
In the manual it says:
From your blackberry select
Where to?> My Locations> Mobile Manager> Create Account

No such menu item exists on my BB.

Whilst I like the product the support leaves a lot to be desired as my question about Mobile Manager was asked months ago and never received a response.

Cheers

You should log in to the Garmin Mobile Manager (from your desktop) and put your "favorites" in there, they way if you wipe your device, it will be able to access them on the server.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting an error when trying to access from their BB? I can get in from my PC, my on my BB it says "Unable to fulfill request. Please try again later. (Code 501)".

Yes, this is happening to me as well. I have to hit the Mobile Manager button about 20 times before I gets through. I have sent support tickets, so I hope they will resolve it with the Storm. It's very annoying.

Yes it happens to me all the time but I just re-save until it goes thru. Sometimes I have to re-save several times.
