Hi,

I want to install a GPS application which will tell me my position on the map in the field. For example, when I am deep in the woods or fishing or riding a bicycle and get lost, for instance.
Basically, I do not need guided sat nav (like IGO, Tom-Tom or Garmin because I already have one) with cities maps and step by step directions. What I am after is a normal geographical map with forests, rivers, ground roads, lakes, altitude markings, etc, which will tell me my position in the terrain in case of being lost and for general orientation. It could also have compass and other extras, but there ar not essential. It doesn't matter to me if it's free or if I'm gonna pay for this, but what I want to avoid is all kind of monthly payments / charges for this. If I'm gonna pay for the software I want to pay once and for all.
