Default VZ Nav Icon dissapeared - 06-14-2009, 08:56 PM

I searched the threads already and couldn't find anything. So if I am posting a duplicate post I apologize...

Anyways. I have the Curve 8830 I believe... and my VZ navigator icon has disappeared. Now in order to launch it if I've recently reset my phone i have to uninstall, re-install and it'll launch it upon that. However, it still does not replace the missing icon. Any suggestions??

Thanks so much.

First make sure the icon isn't hidden. On the homescreen where all the icons are, click the menu key to the left of the trackball and click Show All.

If you don't find it, then do a 30 second battery pull with the phone powered on and resend service books.
If none of that works, I'd call Verizon support.

You are welcome. Did you resend the service books?

K, I did it with the top one in the list. DO I have to do it with all of the ones in the Host Routing Table list?

Hmm.... I think so. But I've never done it that way, I've logged in to my BIS account online and resent service books from there.

Try changing your theme to something different than you are currently using and then change it back.

That always resolves my missing icon issues.

You are a God among men. Thanks a lot.

Issue resolved. If I change it back to the theme I used to have however the icon disappears again. But thats not an issue. I'll just leave it on a different theme.

I've had two sets of related experiences:

- Facebook icon was missing and wouldn't appear even after theme changes, uninstall and reinstalls, and a full wipe. It appeared in App World > My World, but still wouldn't run. I upgraded to 4.5 and it worked.

- Now in 4.5, I misplaced the Google App while trying to move it out of the Apps folder. Changing themes made it accessible, but then changing back to the original theme made it disappear again. Sigh. So I'm staying with the new theme for now.
