Default Turning off screensaver/keeping screen on while using GPS (TeleNav) - 07-08-2009, 09:34 AM

Hi all,

I'm trying to use TeleNav on my Curve 8900. After 2 minutes the screen turns itself off though and needs to be woken up again. Is there any way of stopping this from happening, i.e. of changing a setting either within the BB software or TeleNav? Within the BB software I've tried Options > Screen/Keyboard > Backlight Timeout but the longest duration there is 2 minutes; I'd like to keep the backlight on permanently when using TeleNav. I've checked within TeleNav but can't find a setting that would override the BB one. Any pointers?

Thanks

Eric

There should be a setting under Tools/Extras->Preferences->Backlight in Telenav but we might be using different versions.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using version 5.1. I do have the Tools > Preferences > Backlight option and have set that to "Backlight on", but it doesn't override the 2 minute Blackberry setting - the screen still turns itself off after 2 minutes. Very annoying! I take it you've set your TeleNav to "Backlight on"? And it overrides your BB's setting of 2 minutes? Or can you set a different length on your BB?

Incidentally, my BB also locks itself after 2 minutes (at the same time as it dims the backlight). I've been trying to see if this is a different setting (e.g. under Security) but haven't found anything. Does anyone know if there's a setting that sets automatic locking of the handset after x minutes?

Eric
