Smile Newbie. GPS Navigation application? - 07-16-2009, 12:57 PM

Hello everyone. I just got myself a BB 8900 and I am in the process of discovering all these amazing features; however, I am curious to know where to find the GPS Navigation system that apperantly comes intergrated with the phone? Is it a voice turn to turn application?

Any help will be highly appreacited.

Thanx

A good free one is AmazeGPS. There are several paid alternatives.

you have inbuilt GPS.
to USE gps you need a map application.

Telenav is a GPS service that offers true turn-by-turn voice directions very much like the dashboard GPS systems. The downside is the cost is $9.99 per month but with no contract obligation. There is a free 30 day trial so you can try before you buy.

You can also try Blackberry Maps or Google Maps but neither will give you the voice directions you are looking for. Others may chime in shortly with other recommendations.

I started with amAze and switched to TeleNav. TeleNav has better search options for North America. TeleNav reads the names of the streets. And, if you buy by the year, TeleNav is very affordable.
