Default GSP: Location ON? - 07-19-2009, 03:56 PM

I have an application calld "Poynt" and it tells me that if i want to use this application to the fullest, i should turn my GPS services to "Location ON". I think i read somewhere that if i leave my GPS services to "Location ON", it will eat up my battery very fast, but is this true? A verizon worker told me that it will NOT eat up battery at all if i just leave it "Location ON", but it will eat up battery very quick if i leave the application on. Help please

friends hate me cause i'm always on my blackberry...

I turned my GPS to ON and it killed the battery in no time. I have turned it off now and my battery life is excellent. Therefore only put it on if you need it!

GPS will not kill a battery or barely affect it.

A mapping application left running collecting data will drain the battery very very quickly...

There's a difference between GPS and Mapping.

Leave your GPS to Location On for best results and use of apps like Poynt on your BB.

Agreed on NOT killing battery. As stated the battery dies if something using the GPS is left running in the background.
