Default Have a BB9700. Can't get GPS to work. Help pls!

I just purchased a 9700 and GPS is enabled on it but can't get anything on screen..keeps searching for satellites with diagonal lines on display. Phone uses bb maps.
Can u help?

First, do you have a blackberry data plan? IF not, then bbmaps will not download data.

If you do have a blackberry data plan, then there are two common problems. You need to make sure your device has a clear view of the sky, not blocked by trees or buildings. And the first time you use the gps it will take a long, long time to acquire a fix. You need to wait at least 15 or 20 minutes.

If you still have trouble, do a hard reset.... With the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. Or, go ahead and do that now, then go outside and try the gps again.
