Default Your Experience with Sprint 8703e & Telenav GPS/other GPS Options.

Would like to know about your experience with the Sprint 8703e and Telenav. Is it fast? Comparable to a normal car (Garmin) GPS unit?

If you haven't used that, what's your experience like with cheaper GPS alternatives?

Thanks,
Mike

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

My 8700c is very fast. Yours should be the same. Plus you might get version 5. See my GPS tips page.

I've been using Telenav with Nextel since it first came out. It has always worked great. Recently I moved over to Sprint so that I can get the 8703e and I have say that this version of Telenav is awesome. Works great where ever I am and the 3d maps that it shows now are great. No complaints. I'm on the road everyday and it is very reliable and has saved tremendous time.

I can't say anything bad or good about other GPS devices because I have never felt the need to get them. I like my all in one package.

I use Telenav with my 8703e and it works well. It takes at most 30 seconds to find you and track the route after submitting the address. The volume could be louder, but the graphics are great and it has pulled me out of a jam several times now.

I second Steve-hose's comments, it works great out in Hawaii! The only exception is the pronunciation of the Hawaiian street names.
