What about the 8100? Even though it have maps and optional GPS, I still like to have something that is better.

GPS Beta Testing -
12-13-2006, 08:26 AM
Ideally beta testing would be around 30 days, possibly faster but dependent on application compatibility.
Yes free application for life is for real, we are offering this subscription at no cost for as long as users want it.

GPS Beta Testing -
12-13-2006, 08:55 AM
Yes Roaders321, seadar, track rabbit = 207.188.93.218, correct.
We are all involved in this beta program and would like to ensure that the thread stays active as we are 100% committed to launching this application across North America.
As such we believe BB Forums to be the best way to involve real users in real everyday environments to successfully develop our application.
Any questions or comments can be maintained on this thread and any interested Beta testers are welcome to contact me directly at
For clarification:
seadar=business development
track rabbit=direct sales
roaders=operations

GPS Beta Testing -
12-13-2006, 11:31 AM
Yes I do now see why there are speculations about authenticity, but we have in no way meant to mislead. Perhaps my ine3xperience with BB Forums is to blame as when we initiated this directive for Beta testers yesterday, I did not even have a BBForum user account.
For that reason we had our direct sales channel initiate the Test directive with myself (seamus@solutionsintomotion) as the contact. I have since opened up my own BBForum user account and will be handling all inquiries and comments going forward.
We do apologize for any confusion created, however, in our haste and excitement to get as much traction as possible, potentially overlooked some of the finer details.

GPS Beta Testing -
12-13-2006, 12:22 PM
To all;
Notwithstanding my error in methods of original post, our initiative and offer are 100% real.
We are looking for Beta testers of our Personal Navigation application which currently works on Rogers and TELUS Blackberries in Canada. We need to clarify operating status on:
Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular, Verizon, Southern Linc, Dobson, US Cellular, Bell Mobility networks using the following devices:
8700 series, 7200 series, 7100 series
Anyone that participates with our beta, and once application is tested and confimred operational will recieve a lifetime subscription of our application for FREE $0, no tricks, no gimmicks

They offer me a GPS device, if I don't have one already, at a cost of $70 + shipping & Handling, so I can do the beta testing for them.
I do not know if I want to commit a purchase at this moment especially I might find I do not like to use a GPS map program on my blackberry. ( I plan to buy a new car so I might get a in-dash GPS device with a car)
However, I am interested to see a result of that program.

GPS Beta Testing -
12-14-2006, 08:25 AM
Yes GPS device is required, but users can supply their own. Ultimately, by researching similar GPS receivers you will understand that this device is not being sold at a profit, but simply to cover cost.
The device itself has many more applications and uses than just for our Beta test and therefore could be interpretted as a pretty good deal.
Nextel, Southern Linc users do not need this Bluetooth.
At the end of the day, and the beta our value proposition is still high.

Even after all the explanations given on this forum, by various members, I have to say I'm still not convinced that any of this is legitmate.
Something just doesn't smell right here.
