Cool Map/City Guide Software? - 01-05-2007, 05:47 AM

I am looking for some map/city guide software for my phone.

I don't want something that I need a data plan for.

I just want something where I can navigate maps and possibly find businesses.

The city guides on Handango are all major places.

Any recommendations??

I don't know of anything like that, and I imagine if there was something, it would eat a huge chunk of memory, probably more than the 64MB the Pearl has.

Best bet is to get a data plan and use Google Maps or BB Maps.

You can Google what you want from any SMS capable cell phone. Send a text message to 46645 with your request. For example, Gas 30269. In a few seconds you'll get a text message back with Gas station info (up to the 160 character SMS limit).

I haven't tried it in a long time but back then it worked fine. If you don't have a texting plan, TMO will get you @ $.10/message, to and fro. Check it on on Google.

No maps or such. This should get you part of what you're looking for.

Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Go through there all the time.

But for that he would need a data plan. He's screwed unless he forks up the extra bucks for a data plan.
