Unhappy GPS outside of USA - 01-28-2007, 11:39 PM

I got a 7250 CDMA with unlimted data plan also i got from a friend a I-Blue GPS (bluethooth), the device does recognice the GPS but i am using BB Map and when i press Start GPS doesnt even show me my location.. i guess its because i dont have a map of venezuela? or is it something else.

i am located in venezuela, so i would understand if things are little slow but GPS its a Global TOOL for everone to use if you got the money..

does anyone has figurate out to work with this software or wich software is recomendet for my location, also i am planning to go to Europe and middle east next week i am wondering if theres any posibilitys to only use the GPS since my provider doesnt have international roaming for BB,,

thanks

See the FAQ and my tips page. BBMaps only has US and Canada for now. More coming later, but don't know when later is. You need data to get maps on the BB for now.

Was in Barcelona Spain a few days ago and used BBMaps and a GPS puck to get around. It worked fine but would not give me directions. I could only see where I was in the cities and on the highways.

Just type in a city anywhere in the world to pull up a map. You don't have to be there to see if the map exists.

Default BBMaps works in Singapore - 02-05-2007, 12:28 AM

BBMaps works in Singapore. It can communicate with my bluetooth GPS receiver. As you travel along the street, it does highlight the street name and the street name when you have just cross at the intersection. Depending on your traveling speed, it takes awhile to download the map. 2 weeks time I will travel to Malaysia and will feeback whether it works there. My device is BB8707g, running OS V4.1.0.3478

Default BB Maps in Singapore - 02-10-2007, 09:13 PM

Hi all...
I am from Singapore and I am using BB Pearl.
I would like to ask some questions.

1. Do I need to install software to use BB Maps?
2. Do I need to pay extra phone bill if i use BB Maps in Singapore? (My service provider is Starhub)

3. Do I need to have iBlue GPS receiver to use BB Maps?

thanks to all
