Default Blackberry Maps questions (vs Google maps) - 02-19-2007, 12:26 PM

I recently got an 8703e and I have been digging Google Maps (especially the traffic) but I just saw that there is also Blackberry Maps.

I downloaded it and to mee it seems to run and load maps much more slowly than Google. What do others here prefer? Satellite images are not important to me, fast loading is important.

While the Blackberry Maps GPS features seem cool, I cannot figure out how any of it works. Does anyone know where I can find a guide for Blackberry Maps?

Also, I am on Verizon so that may effect my GPS capabilities.

Thanks,
Brian

If you want an opinion: I use both on my 8700g, no reason to not have them both loaded, costs nothing and very little memory space taken up. For following directions to a specific address, I think I like BB Maps a little better because of the little arrow which continues to point toward my final location.

Google maps for me. I don't have GPS, so don't need BB maps. Google maps has better graphics and when you zoom in the detail is better. The traffic feature is the one I use most. Find business is great too. BB maps is nice to find something in my address book though.

Verizon cripples the GPS functions of the BB. You need a separate GPS puck to use GPS fnctions. See Stinsonddog's Tips as MrKyoo posted above.

I use both BBMaps and Google Maps. They both have good features.
