Just stating using TeleNav, like it so far but was wondering if it was possible to DL the maps, say of a whole metro area, save them on the SD card rather than having to constantly DL bits of the maps? Possible?

Not available right now. RIM is only allowing limited access to the microSD as you can see with the folders they have. Supposedly SPOT is going to have map images in the images folder.
