Default Disable GPS - 03-23-2007, 09:42 AM

Is there a way to disable the GPS portion, but still get e-mail and data. We have users asking if they can shut it down on the weekends and at night, so they can not be tracked on their own time.

If you re using BBMaps, there is an option in the Menu "Start GPS" or "Stop GPS", that should work.

1) The GPS receiver is off by default
2) unless your 'Berrys have a tracking app loaded, they can't be tracked thru GPS. Radio tower triangulation is another thing.
3) if #2 is true, then I suspect that the company won't let them shut it off
4) It's the company's device, they can do what they want with it.

and most important, if you are using a corporate supplied device, hooked to a corporate network, assume NO privacy on that device at all.
