Default I get a bluetooth GPS for my pearl, but whats software for it? - 04-30-2007, 12:47 PM

I paired them successfully. When I turn on the "maps" logo, it only shows lines for a long time.
And I download SPOT from skylab. Its program has error.
And I download from another site, program gets different erro "SPOT attempts to access secure API"

Any idea?

As far as I know, you need a data plan with all of the map software. I'm using a Holux 236 with my Pearl and Telenav. Works great.

Cool, I make it work now.
BBmap is not bad. Today I call FIDO to turn on my data plan. I drove about half hour, it uses 50K data. Less than I image.
I bought this Blurtooth GPS. It has FM modulator built-in.
MOCIS-Toronto car alarm -Remote start-Car DVD-Car PC-Car stereo-auto security-Supplier-Distributor
But I cant find a software has voice promt.
On BBmaps, it shows my direction (S,W,N,E), and driving speed. The map is loaded fast.
But I saw my friend's N73 is better than BB. because that software saves the maps in phone, thats why it doesnt need data service.
Welll...going to change my phone soon....

Well, you can get any third party application work without a data plan. You just need a SIM card that is activated for data transfer (e.g. a normal GPRS card will work). Moreover, your network provider must have BlackBerry data transfer capabilities, so if your provider is selling "BlackBerry data plans" as well, it will work.

I wrote an article on Howto: Get BlackBerry Internet Access without Data Plan (example: China Mobile) some time ago. Hope it helps a bit ;)
