Default GPS enabled Mapping Application for 8800 - 05-08-2007, 02:30 PM

Anyone knows if there are any plans by any companies to release an application that can be installed on the BB8800 and the maps can be stored on the memory Card?

I think this will be a crutial decision for me to consider selling the 8800 and getting the Curve when its out unless an app is released before that time then I might keep it.

Just looking for opinions if anyone has any knowledge about this?

The Curve doesn't have GPS AFAIK so you'd need a bluetooth puck. Do a search on this board and check this site as Stinson has a lot of GPS information. Currently I don't think there is anything available for navigation.

I understand the capabilities of the 8300 and I am tryig to decide if I should switch to the 8300 from my 8800 but the only thing that will save me is a built in GPS map on the 8800 so that I use it without using my data service otherwise I'll switch to the 8300 and make use of the camera and better keys

There are a bunch of applications that bring GPS and mapping features to your BlackBerry. Even the BlackBerry 8800, 8830 and 8300 series are already supported.

A friend of mine wrote a complete article on that topic: BlackBerry and GPS
