Default Bluetooth GPS with 8703e - 08-19-2007, 12:58 PM

Company made me change from the 8800 with gps to 8703e without, (verizon). I really miss the GPS and was using Telenav. Anybody have good recommendations for puck unit for this 8703? Do they all come with software, or is a separate map package required?

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

See Stinsonddog's gps FAQ if you haven't already. You'll need to find a mapping app, either free, such as BBmaps or google maps, or subscription, like telenav. And there are several pucks discussed on the forum. Take your pick.

Thanks! I read his review, but still had some questions about software. I used google maps on my old 8800 and liked it, but apparently it is not compatible with the 8703. I have downloaded it several times and get an error that no one can identify when I try to run it.

Thanks again.

I use the Holux GPSlim 240 BT puck. I haven't had any problems with it yet. I am currently toying with BBmaps, Google Maps & Nav4All (currently free until 2008).
