Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

I'm in Vancouver on Bell Mobility and my gps stopped working last night. The only way I could get it to work was to download the TeleNav program which only became available to us recently.

After fiddling with the TeleNav prgram, the gps started working for BB Maps application. However, if I shut all the gps programs down, I have to open TeleNav before the gps tracking function will work for BB Maps.

Again, this only started last night.

Its the school system in this country. It doesnt train kids to be helpful and go out of thier way to help people. So they get to bell or any other corp. and just collect a pay cheque. And things will get worse as the teachers in this country dont give a damn no more...the kids wont either.

I will now jump off my soap box.

Hi Guys:

Just got my first ever BlackBerry (8830 World edition) friday night. Im signed up with Bell Mobility (toronto) for th unlimited Data plan.

I tried using the OutofBox GPS (which seemed to be base from Bell), but got the message that they were temporarily down. (1) Now when they to Come back up ... is that service free ?

Anyways I went ahead and installed TeleNav, there seems to be a $3.50 a day or $10 monthly fee - which I'm ok with if the Bell GPS also has an additional service fee.

(2) So is my understanding correct that TeleNav GPS Service and the Bell OutOfbox are two seperate services ?

(3) How do I uninstall Telenav.

This seems to be a great forum, has helped me on a few issues already .. Thanks (will try do my part by contributing too).
