Windows Mobile/Pocket PC PDA's That Take Regular Batteries?

Does anyone know of any Windows Mobile/Pocket PC PDA type devices that still use regular batteries (AA or AAA?) I've been searching all over but everything needs to be put on a charger.

I don't think so. Palm had a few in the old days of B & W displays.

The newer devices would suck up the power from AA's too quick. You'd be replacing batteries left and right. All the new blackberries and window's pda devices are mainly phones too, they are constantly on, and would suck the life out of a AA in no time.

That's what I'm finding out.

We've been using the HP 200LX in our airplanes for aircraft/runway takeoff/landing performance data for quite some time. The program we use is no longer supported in DOS and is now Windows only. We have no method of charging them on board and we like to keep them in the airplane and not remove them etc. We're looking for a good device running Windows that would be good for an application like this. It only gets used a few times a day for only a minute or two each time.

ASUS | Eee PC
It has a solid state disk, no hard drive, and is reasonably priced. Looks like you can load XP on it and Asus has announced that a XP model is coming out this year. I don't know how you are going to get around the charging problem though. The plane has no 110 or 12 volt power available?

We have some tablet PC's we use in some of our airplanes that do have 110 power available on the flight deck. Our other airplane type doesn't have any 110 or 12volt up front so we are limited. It has it in back for the passengers but I guess they figured the crew has no use for that stuff when they designed them.

The 200LX was perfect. Very small, batteries last forever, instant on/off and very durable. We've had them for almost 8 years. I love when technology "improves!"

I actually have that, its great and i loaded xp onto it. I use it a mobile unlocking computer. I have to run programs off of SD cards though. Very limited with space.
