Okay folks I am gonna try and keep a running update on how the day goes right here.

Hopefully it goes nothing like the day has started! I am at 7-11 getting coffee go to leave and alarm clicker doesn't work! Somehow between the car and 7-11 the battery fell out and I am stuck for now! Have searched for 15 minutes for the battery but so far no luck!

well its going to be tough, Dawg was first but he won't be last. Im saying 35 anti-apple posts.

about 80 people in line at my local store, and its been open for 45 min already. I just drove by, not buying one today. The numbers are about the same as last year and we have no 3G here.

I wonder how many people will be upgrading their old iPhones to new ones, how many will be just purchasing the phones full price, and how many will be gross adds for Apple(either new acts or upgrades from other devices)

If this is the case i will buy one. Get the iphone2.0 upgrade and slip a prepaid sim in it. I dont need 3g or Gps. Maybe i can sell my ipod touch to help cover the cost once old iphone prices drop.

I might have mine on here for sale in the next week. has 2.0 already on it.

I read the unlockers already have broken 2.0 for unlocking and jailbreaking.

Gotta love security. Its like Windows

2.0 does bring some very nice features to the device though

I agree but the numbers will be way down this time around as Tmo users cannot get 3G with this model and the international carriers are going to be selling them.

the jailbreaking will be down as well i think as the App store is open now.
2.0 is a big step up, i agree.

I think people are going to be shocked at the numbers honestly. Last year they sold a TON to unlock/jailbreak and send overseas. Without this, the US numbers will lag behind what they did. Apple may indeed sell more, and probably add quite a few new users. I have said it on here before, RIM wont hurt Apple, Apple wont hurt RIM (at least not badly in either case). The real losers here are Palm/Motorola

This reminds me of Black Friday kind of stuff. I just dont get it. I will get a Bold on launch day, but no way im waiting in an 80 person line for it. Even 10 person is too much for me. Just have to go and make friends with the local staff is all.

I am very curious about these numbers as well! it will be very interesting.
I have a feeling they will be getting ALOT of new contracts to avoid the full pricing!!!! The "all inclusive plan" at $129.99 is expensive. I wonder what this will do to ATT stock?

Let's see how fast AT&T's network starts having issues, I'm thinking this weekend might be a small problem child for them.

I hope you are wrong about that.

Perhaps the 'sos' codes people were experiencing prior were the tweaks to the system in preparation for the onslaught.

I was thinking the same thing about the SOS codes last night. I also hope that I'm wrong about AT&T having outages this weekend but think back to when the iPhone was first released and all the network problems they had before.
