Default iPhone 3G with BB data plan - 10-23-2008, 06:58 AM

While I went back to my BB 8820 as my primary deice, I would still like to use the iPhone on occasion. I know some of you have both devices, so my question is can I use the iPhone with my BB data plan. I know that Visual Voicemail isn't available, but have any of you received threats from AT&T that you were doing this? I don't want to get hit with an unexpected bill.
-Thanks-

there are threads on this, give search a try for more info.
I think the answer is - you can have a BB data plan and use the iphone, you cannot go the other way and have iphone data and use the BB.

Thanks, but I know it will work just fine. My question is, has there been any repercussions from AT&T in doing it? Carriers have the capability to run IMEI sweeps on the network to verify device type and then correlate with appropriate data plan.

that is a risk you run when you do what you are planning. Haven't seen anyone one charged for doing it but it is possible

When using the iPhone you have to have the iPhone-specific data plan of $30.00. If you are on the wrong plan, you are apt to be charged an ugly amount for data usage, and AT&T will change the plan on your account themselves if they find the "mistake."
