I just got an iPhone on friday. So far it's going great. Still getting used to the touch screen, but definately a welcomed change for me. The iPhone plan is $20 cheaper than my blackberry plan with Verizon, i didn't really need push email, and was looking for a phone that could be my one in all device. Since most of my music is through iTunes and not a 100 percent iTunes plus upgraded yet, I decided to go with iPhone for a few years until it all is.

I loved my curve 8330. I had it since its release last year. So it's gonna be tough giving it to my bro who is a blackberry user, but I feel this is the right phone for me... for now.

I'll still be hanging around these forums if I'm still welcomed though. This community has always been friendly and helpfull to me.

I may go back when the new hardware/iphone OS 3.0 comes out later this year. It looks pretty slick, the software anyway. The only thing at this point that I would really miss about the Blackberry is BB Messenger. Its so damn convenient! We'll have to see, I'm happy with my Bold for now.

my fat fingers> iphone touch screen....

autotext > ALL!

pffft ..does anyone really write thing out anymore? I write in 'short hand and my bb converts to the "proper formal english"

Unfortunately now forever chained to RIM....to bad apple won't allow additional entries to the on-board dictionary

Love the 9000!! It's everything I wanted (minus enough ON BOARD memory)!!

I agree.. I miss my messenger buddies. They will be missed. If any of ya see this I miss talkin to you guys.

Honestly the 3.0 update is the reason why I went with iPhone. If it was never gonna pick up MMS and cut/copy/paste I would've never left my BB. OH! and they've add the use of the keyboard in vertical mode. Most apps that i've used thus far already have this and it is FAR more easier to type that way then in horizontal mode.

I'm going to post this as an "Update" to my situation, I've had the iphone for a while now and on the first day I jailbroke (I had no idea what I was doing but it was still very simple) and I have been enjoying 3rd party applications since then, I have also got a few apps from the app store and checked them out too. Overall I am very happy with the iPhone and have had 0 problems whatsoever (knock on wood).

As of today I have both a Bold and a 3g 16 iphone. I want the best of both worlds and I have 30 days to check out the iphone. My plan is to use the Bold for business and the iphone for fun. So I dont see the point in putting down either they both have a purpose. Besides the iphone will make me feel like a teenager again.....

You could have just gotten an iPod Touch and save yourself a contract.

I liked an iPhone myself but I don't want jail broken or unlocked unless its factory. Since no one supports one in the island, well...

Also, I got too much stuff. My 16 gig iPod Touch first gen all filled up. Its not really 16 gig since if you count the operating system usage, you only have 13 to 14 gigs left and I got well over 12 gigs used up. So I got a 32gig iPod Touch second gen. That's double of the current biggest iPhone.

If you don't like the built in keyboard of the Iphone, OS 3.0 will remedy it to a system wide landscape keyboard. Or you can already go get any of the third party keyboard apps already present.

I actually want to get an Android or Symbian S60 3.2 to play around. That would be Release 2, not Release 1. Already got WiMo to play around, not exactly pretty but it has some points.

its not from the os, the os is only 200 megs.

here is a better explanation on why its lower then 16 gigs.

I love my iPod Touch, and I could join you if the iPhone had an autotext feature and cut & paste. Are you missing those features, or does the Mac integration make up for them?

Well cut and paste is coming with 3.0. Autotext was nice, but not a deal breaker. I miss BBM, but I'll move on. The Mac integration is excellent, I love be able to download a video off itunes or the latest edition of cranky geeks and have it upload to the iphone and be properly formatted is a few minutes as opposed to what seemed like an eternity with Roxio. I also like having full, out of the box Exchange support with my companies email server. We don't have a BES so the BIS option was very limited. And the Apps are great.

Yeah, I saw the demo of the cut and paste feature. It looks pretty good. MMS is coming as well, and wider application support for the landscape keyboard. My list of reasons for not owning an iPhone is getting smaller!

if ijunk could run background apps, and act as a portable disc, then maybe it would be on par to the rest of the world, but following apples nickle/dime method, this might happen in the next gen iphones or the following when they "recreate background processes".

the fact the device is a drm machine is a turn off, 2nd factor is to get functionality out of the device you have to jail break or use some 3rd party hack that makes the device vulnerable is a big turn off.

It's only supporting one Exchange account right now too (at least the 2nd generation iPod Touch is). Is that changing with 3.0?
