Hi, my 7290 took a swim last week and after a complete dry with enough heat I encouraged to put the battery on again... now all is working fine, it syncs OK, all the letters type well, the wheel is fine... BUT ... is always vibrating !!!
Is there anything else I should do ?

Well, the motor that causes the vibration is inside. Take the 4 black and 2 metal screws out from the back. I usually use a small flat screwdriver but you may want to get a TORX bit to avoid damaging the screws.

I think there may be a short somewhere near the motor.

What do you mean about a short ? Still wet or some kind of humidity ? Can't I try to dry this place without opening it ?

Corroded metal from water can form metalic salts that can cause a short circuit.
Think of all the white crusty stuff that forms on battery terminals in cars.

My buddy's 7100g slipped out of his belt holster when he was cleaning his pool. It took a swim also. It was dead for 4 days. On the 5th it came back to life. It's as good as new now. Patience and good luck.

OK, finally I dissasembled it and if I put some paper between the contacts of the case it stops vibrating.... what should I use to clean them so I can continue using vibration ? Or it must be some short in another place ? Right now it is assembled and working OK but with the paper in between the contacts of the board and the case...

I would probably take an old toothbrush and a bottle of 90% rubbing alcohol and scrub anything that looks like it has water stains on it.
