Pickpocket Proof Cases

I"m about to purchase an 8830 to take with me to Europe. I'll be spending quite a bit of time in crowded tourist places with a plethora of pickpockets hanging around.

I'd like recommendations on cases that might prevent pickpockets from getting my Blackberry. Belt Loop? Zippers? I'll take all suggestions as well as suggestions on how to carry it if not on my belt. (I doubt the thieves would try to take the case if it was secure to my belt. Just lift the Blackberry itself.

Thanks

I use a verticle top loading leather case by RexRegina. The model name is: Morgan. It's made from thin high quality leather. Designed specifically for each BB model, it's a precision close fitting case without a belt clip. Therefore I carry it I'm my front pants pocket very comfortably.

I frequently travel to New York, London, & other major metro cities were pick pockets are frequently encountered. Being prepared is the key. I have yet to have my BlackBerry stolen. Along with my laptop, these two devices keep me connected & in business. Therefore I take every possible precaution to keep them safe.

RE: Fortte cases for BB 8830

Dear fbrown627:

At fortte we offer a huge variety of options and in stock cases for immediate shipment, in particular for the 8830 you can review the options at:
Leather pda cases for your BlackBerry 8800, 8830, Dual Design for BlackBerry 8800, 8830, Glove Fit for BlackBerry 8800, 8830, Lateral Pouch for BlackBerry 8800, 8830, Open Face for BlackBerry 8800, 8830, STiL Vertical Pouch for BlackBerry 8800, 8830

I would think that the glove fit (with zipper) for your travel is the best solution with a removable free swivel clip. When you are exposed to crowded places then you just remove the unit with the case and place it in secure pocket and keep the clip on the belt until is safe again.

For this option visit:
Leather case for BlackBerry 8800, 8830

Also... you can apply 30% off as a BBforums member
ONLINE DISCOUNT COUPON: BBFOR300108
DISCOUNT 30%

VALID UNTIL: FEBRUARY 29, 08

Thanks! PRB

i have found the PRIMA cases to be the most secure with a stable fit.
Mine is a low profile case that slips easily in my pocket..or firmly attached to my belt with the belt clip. Beautiful quality

for working I use a regular swivel clip case, but when I go in crowded place, I just put it in the oem pouch that I slip in the front pocket (mostly jean so I know if someone put his hands in there).

As a european who lives and works in the UK I can say that you will be just as likely to be pickpocketed in your home town as here so first of all don't panic that your visit to europe will be a hazardous and treacherous experience.

We all need to exercise a little care and one fo the best ways to do that is to slip your phone into a thin case and into a safe pocket. I use the front of my jeans pockets for valaubles accompanied by my hand usually.

But like I say - Europe is not a place to fear.

You make a very good point about the relative safety of all cities, and that Europe is not inherently a dangerous place.

As for the front pocket recommendation, that is usually a good idea. However, don't let a false sense of security come over you. One time I was at Mardi Gras, left my wallet at the hotel, and went out to party with only a money clip and funds in the right front pocket of some rather tight jeans. A very skilled pickpocket in the crowd lifted the $$$ and returned the money clip, all without my knowing it. Now the jostling of the crowd had something to do with that, but my point is that a skilled pickpocket can work wonders.

You're welcome. My lady is heading over to London even as I type this -- wish I was on the flight with her. I've had wonderful experiences over there.
