Default Has anyone tried this dock? - 02-28-2008, 12:14 AM

If so, is it worth it?

I've heard good things about it. It won't work with a skin or Seidio Hard case, though.

That shouldn't be a problem for me, I'm not a fan of skins or hard cases, I stick to the holster.

Yea, its a BB item. I use the Mobi dock, it charges an extra battery out of the phone, so i can charge my phone and spare battery at the same time

I'm curious about the pearl version of it tho,
http://shop.crackberry.com/blackberr...5A100A3317.htm

How it can light up when it charges, or even charge at all without having a cable directly to the phone beats me.. hehe

On the back of your BB, next to the cover release, there is a gold pin on each side, it charges through that. You cant sync, but it will charge.

I have one of these things and I love it. I am using a 8300, normal battery, door etc. I even have a full body invisible shield on it and it fits in the dock fine.

Pluses:
Charges my BB
Keeps it upright so I can see the LED better from a distance. (I can set my BB to silent and still notice misses call/emails/pins etc.)
Keeps it out of the way and from getting lost.
Small
Cool looking

Cons:
It does not come fully functional. YOU have to supply the charger. (I used my travel charger that came with my BB and am happy..just strange it doesn't come with the charger)
The little light on the front of the dock is cool looking. But I already have enough stuff in my house that glows. Also the little light flickers away when the BB emits RFI.

This is the one i just got, cane with an attached USB for sync, and a charger for the spare battery as well!!!
Mobi Products Battery Cradle for BlackBerry 8300 Series - ShopCrackBerry
So far it works great, only thing is, it has some really bright LEDS, but the dont tell you if the spare battery is charged, just that there is power going to it..

This is waaaay off topic, but man....beyondalegend, I would love your avatar to be my BB wallpaper. But darnit, doesn't support GIF :(
I would gladly carry extra batteries on me to keep it going. ha.

ok, sorry.

I'm using that cradle and it's fantastic. Heavy and solid like a paperweight so no worries about it and your Blackberry falling over. The logo on the front lights up when your Blackberry is in it, letting you know it's connected and charging. When you want your Blackberry, just pull it out. No wires to disconnect. Just grab it and go. Also, it holds your 'berry upright so if it's docked and you get a message it's easy to see. Totally superior charging solution.

If you leave the BB in the pod all the time will it ruin the charger or battery as from what I hear its not good to leave it plugged in for a long time?
