Default Blackberry 7290...

Please Login to Remove!

Hey folks...

Anyone here have a 7290.... are you happy with that device ? Currently I have a 7100r and I use the Bluetooth often but I want to change my device to have a full keyboard. I love my 7100r but the small keyboard is a bit bad when you have to type a long email or do some PIN2PIN messaging.

The only Blackberry other than the 7100 that offer Bluetooth is the 7290 (i'm with Rogers). But I'm just not sure if it's a good device...

Can I have the same ringtone capabilities (ADP) on that device ? Any bad point with the 7290 ? What is the screen size ? Is it the same size as the 7100 ?

Thanks in advance!

The 7290 is great if you are e-mail centric. It ca not play ADP ringtones. Lousy ringtones. The exact screen size is on the technical specifications page on www.blackberry.com It is quad band, just like the 7100r.

I switched from the 7100 - didn;t like the screen washing out in the daylight and suretype just wasn't for me.

My 7290 is great. I'm happy with the ringtones, but I'm old fashioned. A British ring for a phone call, a quiet beep for an email, a loud ring for alarm. The screen resolution is fantastic, both outdoors in the sun, and indoors with the backscreen light on. It's an email monster! I can type almost as fast as on my desktop. Net surfing when I'm out is also great. You won't be dissatisfied, IMHO.

I've had my 7290 since February and I like it. I have a hearing problem so I use the vibrate setting to make sure I get my calls. I can hardly hear the ringer on high.
I use a Bluetooth headset all of the time and it is great. I haven't had any problems with the phone.

I have had my 7290 since May and I too really like it - upgraded from a 7230. I like the bright screen, email capabilities and bluetooth. One thing I didn't expect.

I occasionally have to travel internationally. When I went to South America, the phone reception was better than in many parts of the US, and the data connection worked fine. However, when I went to Europe (France, Switzerland, and UK), I was only able to get data connection while in Paris - nowhere else. Phone worked ok, but no data at all...

Any ideas - something I missed? I tried several different carriers, but none of them provided data. I have T-Mobile in the US.

Other than that, I am glad I made the switch.

I guess you benefited from the cartells need for good reception while in South America.

Only problem with my 7290 is the phone sound volume. I don't know if this an issue with the other Berrys, but many of us 7290 owners have the same complaint.

What is it with the sound volume? Having the same problem! Maybe we should send them all back and get them to fix the problem!
