Default New headset for the 7290 - 07-27-2005, 12:16 PM

So IMO the provided headset sux. Is there a different option available? Looking for one that "locks" to your ear/face where the mic is always at your mouth. Thanks.

Ok, finally found a few http://www.blackberrystuff.com/blackberry-headset.htm

A better question would be, who has one (which?) and how do you like it? Pros and cons?

How about a bluetooth device that has an earbud that sticks right into your ear canal? The low volume of my 7290 is driving me bananas. The BT device I use now doesn't help much because it fits over the canal, and does not fit in it.

Try the Jabra BT250, has the "eargel" thing that does just what you ask for - it sits inside the ear canal for increased volume.

Wirelessly posted (7290: Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) BlackBerry7290/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

The 250[V]. 250V is the model with vibrating allerts , this would be kinda usefull if it worked with any model BlackBerries.

If you're willing to entertain the idea of using a _wired_ headset then you should consider the Shure QuietSpot QSHB3. I've spent a fortune on wired headsets over the past few years and I've found none better then the Shure QuietSpot.

The noise reduction capabilities of the microphone have allowed me to have serious conversations with clients while walking down the street in Manhattan without the usual "can you please repeat that, a bus just drove by" effect. The earphone speaker is of the quality you'd expect from a company that makes most of its money from catering to the needs of musicians.

Here's the link to Shure. http://www.shurestore.com/quietspot/QSHB3.html

Don't go for the Shure Quietspot. Every retailer I've spoken to say this headset has one of the highest return rates. They're delicate, overpriced, and have poor sound.

I recommend the Etymotic Research headset for cell phones. It's a wired headset, but has excellent noise suppression, and fits right in your ear canal--offering the best possible volume.

In my opinion, this headset addresses two main problems with the 7290: (1) Low volume, and (2) Blackberries pick up tons of background noise.

Default Etycom cellular headset creates buzz in 7290 - 01-22-2007, 02:41 PM

I'm getting an annoying buzz in my Etycom cellular headset when I use it with my 7290. Has anyone else experienced this or is this a problem with my headset or 7290 or both?
