Question Question regarding Blackberry 7520/7510 Antenna

Please Login to Remove!

I currently just bought the 7520 from Nextel and was wondering how can i change that ugly Antenna is there any out there because i dont like the antenna on it and when i take ti out i have a hole on the top of my BB ... any accessories to fix this little problem.

What if i take off the antenna take a shave off the part that holds the antenna... now it will look like a regular BB?

Another user on the board removed the antenna and used a nylon (don't use metal) machine screw to plug the hole. If you mod the case at all and then need service on the unit you will be out of luck.

FYI removal of the antenna will degrade the performance of the Cellular Packet Radio (Direct Connect).

The antena isnt just for signal its to direct the radio waves away from your body because the iden and cdma phones put out so much power. The direct connect depends on that antena. So if you dont use dc then why nextel?

Are those radio waves really that bad and how do they direct them away from you ho do they know where it is on your hip and direct it to the right but what if the phone is on your hip on the left and they direct it to your right ... right into your hip :-O

I had a 7510 way back and when i took off the antenna it still worked fine the phone did not lose signal 100% still

Stop dont make me laugh im at work hahaha
okay im going to try the Nylon Scren 10-24 x 1/4" and fit it through so it will become like a flat stubby antenna might spray paint the screw black to match with the BB

LoL Thanks for the info though
