Default USB wired ear piece - 06-30-2008, 11:50 PM

I have a USB wired earpiece that I used with my last phone (moto razr) it had much superior sound to the one that came with my curve. Any possibility that this can be made to work? I tried connecting it to the USB port but no luck. Is there a setting to change?

Thanks

There is no support for USB ear pieces on a Blackberry.

Buy a mating plug at Radio Shack & get a geek with a soldering iron to figure out how to adapt your headset & it might work - or might not. A USB headset incorporates (usually in the plug) an analog/digital translator & some code to let it be recognized by the system as an audio device.

So if the USB isn't supported what's a decent 3.5mm earpiece? Not thrilled with the one that came with the curve. Volume seems to go up and down randomly during calls.

I have a blue tooth, actually 2 of them a plantronics 640 and a 655 both work well but I don't leave either of them on all the time and sometimes it's nice to be able to pop in the wired one if a call goes longer than expected.

Hence the request for a good wired 3.5mm earpiece
