Default Thinking about a memory upgrade - 07-02-2008, 08:46 AM

I currently have no external memory for my 8830, but I would like to buy a smaller one. Maybe 1 or 2 gb.

Any suggestions on what cards are good/affordable? (please provide a link as well if you can)

Thank you,
-Eric

Thank you. I was hoping to pick something up from a store because I'm leaving early Friday morning for Mexico with my family (parents won't let me get the world plan, so I can't bring my phone... blah.)

Maybe there will be some really good deals for when I get home =]

lol. I was over exaggerating. By a lot, but still... I've never been to a wal mart, and I really don't plan on it any time soon. Maybe costco will have something.

Never said I was too high and mighty. I just don't support their killing local businesses. That, and like I said, there are none near me. I don't think its worth the drive.

Welcome to capitolism. Survival of the fittest. Its all business and thats the way it works. Has worked that way for hundreds of years. They started off small and built their empire why is that so bad?

Ok, no need to get testy. I know what it is. I still don't like the store. Its all based on opinions. Everyone is aloud to have their own opinions. Just drop it. Christ.

Back on topic. Do you have a Circuit City or Best Buy near you at all?

You can order online and then pick it up in the store usually that day.

Here is a 2gb for $20 at Circuit City: Buy the SanDisk 2GB microSD Mobile Memory Kit and other TransFlash & microSD memory cards at circuitcity.com

There used to be a circuit city down the block from me. I'm sure there's one somewhere near me. Just gotta look it up. I know there is a best buy near me because I'm there all the time.

Seems like Costco would fall in that category, too?

Radio Shack, Ritz Camera, Best Buy for sure would have one...the lower gig cards should be very affordable no matter what store you go to, but since you don't have the luxury of time, you may have to pay a higher price than if you could mail order.

Well, even if I mail ordered, the shipping jacks the price up, and I'd be paying what I'm paying in the store anyway.

Go to buy.com and search for '2GB-2ADP' the first result at the top is a 2gb Kingston microsd card for $10 with free shipping. There's a 5% off coupon out there too

If you aren't too concerned with the brand, supermediastore.com has a 2gb A-data one for $8.99 shipped.

I don't know much about brands for memory cards. Thank you acmoe. Hopefully that will still be there when I get home Friday.
