Default to fix, or pay $50 for an insurance replacment? - 04-24-2009, 06:40 PM

Hey ya'll. I recently got an 8300, and I LOVE this phone. Sadly, the day before before I went to get the fancy hip holster, I dropped my phone, and put a large spidering crack in the screen. The screen still works, but its frusterating. I saw on youtube I could take it apart and fix it, but I'm worried that if I do this, I will not be able to use the insurance on my phone in 5 months when I... Drop it into the toilet or something.

So, to sum it all up, esuron, the compony verizon does insurance with, will they still take it if I have opened it?
How much does a replacment screen cost?
I'm mostly concerned about dropping my phone in water, then not having insurance. How expensive is it to fix an 8300 after getting it submerged?

Thanks in advance

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

You can replace the screen!
Screens can be found rather easily at reasonable prices!

loco_hosa: Replace the screen or not, when you call your insurance to file a claim on the phone, don't report it as damaged. Just report it as stolen. They really don't care.

Exclamation 8300 cracked screen, what are my options? - 05-24-2009, 11:45 PM

Hi I have a similar problem. I got my 8300 curve from ebay (never been used) and i love it! However, my little cousin stepped on it today leaving it with a hairline spider crack. It is in the second layer of glass if that makes sense. What are my options. I dont think i can take it into att&t or anything like that. How would i go about fixing this? I am not like a handy man or anything haha. Please help me and thank you
