Default Backlight - 09-11-2009, 07:52 AM

Is there anyway to automatically turn off the backlight when charging my Blackberry Tour? I do not want to do it manually every night nor do I want to turn the phone off.

I lay my Curve on it's face so I can't see it at all.

Why do you not turn the phone off?

Makes sense to me.

Default I second the request - 10-01-2009, 09:14 PM

I leave my phone on all night while it's charging in case there is a family emergency.

When in the cradle the face of the Tour makes a nice bedside clock but I want the keyboard backlight to go off when cradled. Seems like a simple enough and sought after feature.

Barring that, how do you manually turn off the backlight? I only see a way to set it at 10, and no way to actually shut it off.

Anyone have any ideas?

Never Mind, found the answer on the Bol forum here.

Open your clock, enable Bedside Settings when charging and have it turn off the backlight when cradled.

I was looking in the Screen/Keyboard area under Options when the answer is in Clock options.

Now when I cradle my Tour, the clock screen appears, auto dims and the keyboard backlight goes off. Just what I wanted.

I'm leaving this here to help anyone with the same questions out.
