Angry Frustrated - Are you also experiencing keypad issues? - 10-26-2009, 08:20 AM

Thank you for taking the time to assist and/or comment. I have recently purchased a blackberry tour with verizon. I was LOVING it until...

The keypad has now decided to not work AT ALL. I used to have a curve and I experienced the EXACT same problem. The trackball works (except the push down command) but the keypad does not function at all. I have tried battery pulling, pressing down various combinations of buttoms, holding various combinations of buttons. etc.

It's extremely frustrating. Same problem, twice. Have missed important meeting calls and two appointments already. BlackBerry, in a sense, has ruined a part of my life.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have heard individuals mentioning that it's due to ANY water/moisture present within the keypad hardware. It's not possible for water damage UNLESS my office had a mini hurricane People have mentioned disassembling the device, drying the components, hairdrying, leaving in a bag of rice.

Are these the only solutions? Are blackberries REALLY sensitive to minor amounts of moisture in it's keypad area?
