Default 7290 Alert Volume Low?

:( Does anyone else think the alert volume on the 7290 could be just a tad louder? Having replaced PDA, 2-Way Alpha Pager, and Cell with the 7290, I'm a bit disappointed in the alert volume - it's no where close to my ex-pager, or my ex-cellphone.

Does anyone have any LOUDer than normal ringtones?

I have the same gripe with my Cingular 7290.

Default Volume

I just replaced my 7280 with the 7290 with hopes the volume on the phone would be better. Without the headset it's dissapointing? Does any of the Blackberry's have an adequate phone without the headset or is that just a design flaw?

the volume on my 7290 is the biggest dissapointment in my BB use. It is very difficult to hear a caller unless you are in a quiet environment. My call volume control is a moot feature, as it would be impossible to use the phone at other than full volume.

Jeez! All these great tech feats on my BB, yet it flunks on the most basic and simplest engineering -- voice volume control. It must be lack of care on RIM's part, as I don't see any insurmountable problems with fixing this issue.

Damn, one of the most important features of any phone, yet RIM forces us to live with this if we want to access their other great features. I might just buy a real phone, screw with two devices, and be pissed at RIM for unnecessarily forcing me to do this in order to comfortably hear my callers.

I have a 7290 as well, volume seems to be alright, although I haven't tried using it in really noisy places. I'm more impressed with the clarity, although that pretty much depends on network coverage as well. No volume problems using a BT headset as well.

With that said, a speaker phone function would be excellent.

Default Download fix for 7290 phone volume?

FYI for those experiencing this volume issue, T-Mobile has told me that I can download a volume "fix" from their website that will cure the problem of in and out volume when using the 7290 w/o headset. Haven't downloaded it yet but it's out there supposedly. Try caling RIM if you are not on T-Mobile. Honestly, I wish I had bought a Treo 650 instead. The bar of soap-shaped blackberry makes a horrible phone configuration and overall it's useful only for emails, but has no really helpful bells and whistles beyond that. Shouldn't every device of this type have music storage capability and word

Default Do you know where the link is?

I've been whining about this for some time!!!! The 7290 performance is abysmal!!!! The TMO support staff have cannot comprehend the problem - let alone know what to do. Perhaps the link might point to some patch that will fix it (though I doubt it).

Any ideas where?
