Default Blackberry 6710 Questions...

Does anyone still use this Blackberry? How is it?

I've heard the phone is terrible?

Any comments about this would be useful....

Someone has offered me for free but I'm not sure whether to bother or just buy a newer model..

Thank very much!!

I used a 6710 some time back had a 7780 as well for a period of time, still in my mind to toughest BB's made. I really didn't have much issue with the phone on my 6710 - 900/1800 GPRS the BB is an email first phone second device but with the extent and size of the Rogers network I really didn't have a allot of issues with my 6710. If anything the price is right and if it meets you needs it's a great intro to the BB!

Watch out for the early models that only had 8MB on them. They were very slow...

Pop the battery door off and it should say 8MB or 16MB near or under where the battery is seated.

Great, final question.

What's the difference between the 7780 & the 6710?

They look the same....

On the RIM BlackBerry web site, there is a tool to allow you to compare the different BBs. There are TONS of differences...

7780 is color and supports all North American GSM bands (1900/850) and European GSM1800

6710 is black and white and supports only North American GSM 1900 and 1 European GSM band (GSM900)
