my touch screen is still but icons alights

my touch screen sometimes still ( it aligns when I touch, but wouldn't click) only the keypad would be responding, I do pull battery when it happens like that.... Any idea?

Instead of pulling the battery, click the screen lock button on the top left of your device if you have one. Then click again, that should reset the screen.
