I need to know if anyone knows where I can get the OEM housing for my 8700c? I hockey pucked it across the parking lot right outside the Cingular store right when I was going to see if a case was available 2 days after I bought it. The car door smacked it out of my hand before I could holster it. It was only a little knicked up but still not acceptable for a new unit.

I used instructions i found on this site to disassemble the 8700. I then sanded and painted the casing with a metallic pewter/silver automative paint and it looks fantastic!!! It also gives the phone a very unique look from other 8700s. It looks like it was bought that way.

I would still like to have the OEM case to switch between the two and just to simply have the original blue/silver casing for the phone.

Could you post pics of your device?

I don't think they make OEM cases for this device yet. You can always try a dummy unit. I am not sure if it would work though.

OR... Contact the folks at www.promobility.net or www.bbrepairshop.com and see if they will be getting the OEM housing anytime soon.
