Thumbs up Seidio's Desktop Charger and USB Travel Kit Review

Please Login to Remove!

I have had the privilege to review yet another Seidio Product - RIM BLACKBERRY USB DESKTOP CRADLE and the TRAVEL CHARGER KIT. I have seen another review of the product and was quit excited to receive this product. Unfortunately my daughter has my digital camera where she is attending Soccer camp at the University of Michigan, so I will post pics later this week when I get my camera back. (unless I can find one here at work)

First off the design is once again brilliant and unique. I love the feel of this thing, plastic yet rubbery just feels good.

Desktop Charger
There are 2 modes of operation - PC Charge and Wall Charge. I charge my phone on my night stand so I just took my OEM Wall charger and plugged into back of Base, flipped the switch to charger and charged away. I was VERY HAPPY TO SEE THAT THIS WILL ACCOMMODATE THE 7100i (I am sure all 7100s as well) SKIN MADE BY SEIDIO (Which BTW the JET BLACK SKIN COMES OUT THIS WEEK YES!!!!). It is snug with the skin on, however it is not like your fighting it to get in and out. To charge from my Laptop I simply plugged in the provided USB Cord to my laptop and then to the charger and flipped the switch to USB and now it charges and syncs!
This charger is VERY pleasing to the eye and has worked flawlessly. I recommend anyone with a BB to buy one of these, whether you charge from your computer or wall.

Travel USB Charger Kit
Again, job well done. Kit comes with a wall charger and USB cord. I like the fact I can charge both ways via USB or Laptop. I found that I have one less cord I need to travel with. Again works flawlessly.

Did I mention the JET BLACK SKIN IS COMING THIS WEEK for the 7100i!!!!!!

Here is the one they have release for the 8700 series:

Question Seidio USB Cradle - 8700c

I purchased the new Seidio Charger - the one that works with the extended battery. I don't have my extended battery on the BB now, so I put the BB in the cradle, hooked everything up, changed the switch to USB because I wanted to synch and I received an error that the USB Device is not recognized and my BB Desktop Software doesn't recognize the BB is there.

I remember reading in their old cradle this was an issue but I thought it was fixed??

Does anyone have any suggestions? I emailed Seidio tech. support but haven't heard anything back.

Thanks in advance.
