Default 7100g died! - 03-01-2005, 02:16 PM

Help! I was on the phone with bluetooth on my 7100g when I suddenly lost the call. I looked at the phone and nothing would happen. The screen was black. I tried the power button. Nothing.

I reseated the battery and now the LED on top flashes red four times but the screen never comes on. The flashing LED keeps cycling.

Yikes! I've never seen a Crackberry this dead. Anyone have any clues before I go trying to order a replacement?

Reload the firmware and your device will work again, but all data on the device is lost. I hope you have a backup.

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure how to connect, though. I get nothing on the screen, not even a backlight. Should the desktop manager still be able to connect so I can reload the firmware?

Well I'm back online. Although the phone didn't show connected to the desktop manager, I was able to reload the firmware via Application Loader.

Now I have to hope that I don't run across that bug again. Just yesterday I had upgraded to the 4.0.0.274 package.
