Well this site doesn't show a single case for the 7520 when you click the link for 7520 accessories.

A case for a 7290 or 7250 will fit your 7520 as they have vitually the same width profile. They may not have everything on the site linked up just right, but I know what I am talking about. There are some nice cases for the 7250/7290's and they will work great with your model.

Tillia,

I had sent an e-mail to RIM asking about cases for the 7520 and here is the response I got:

"Thank you for your interest in Blackberry accessories. Unfortunately, we do not offer a case that is compatible with your Blackberry model.
You may want to check with your service provider to see if they carry any compatible cases."

Well obviously the Customer Service rep who answered your email was not aware of the similar profiles of the 7250/7290/7520 models of BlackBerry. Any 7250/7290 holster/case/pouch will work with your 7520 model. The only case I would worry about was the horizontal hydrafoam ones because of the antenna. Would be very tricky to get your 7520 in and out of that one, I think.

Tillia,

You are right on the money. I just checked the site again tonight and it now shows the vertical active holsters for the 7520. Thanks for your help!

Yep. We are going to have all of that in a few days. We have costs, part numbers and PO's at the ready... just needs to be released to distribution from RIM.

Our website is being updated to include the new items as I type this.

Keep in mind all of these RIM holsters have elastic gusseting... a 2mm peak thickness difference will not make a difference on those cases... they are designed for 72xx devices.

rtg,
You are not exactly correct on the holsters fitting all 72XX models. The 7250 and 7290's have a significant profile measurement differential and so ACC-05150-001 (as an example) Leather swivel holster will fit but it will be very, very tight. A design change lengthening the elastic gussetting was made because of this and the best fitting leather swivel holster (OEM) is ACC-08582-001. Again, the 72XX one will fit but it is very tight.
For the 7520 model, look for items designed for the 7250/7290 models. Profile differentials are virtually the same.

And after about 2 weeks, the 7200 leather holster loosens up and is working beautifully with my 7290.

The design change you're talking about is also a style change (more squared)... The Acc-05150-001 has proven to be a very versatile case and does fit the 7290 as NJ points out. the very very tight you mention only lasts about 2 weeks - would you agree NJ? The 08582, when it gets into distribution will replace the 05150 and again be the generic 62xx/72xx series case.

Let me add that all of these leather cases from RIM require a break-in period to get the leather portion to "glove" the device. These cases rely on surface tension between the leather and your device to hold them.

There is a specific 6510/7510/7520 solution now... RAC5524/ACC-05505-024.

While I would agree that the 05150 case becomes more usable with time, it still is difficult to work with for a 7520. When it is on my belt I have to hold the case with my right hand and pull out the BB with my left. Another issue I have had is that sometimes the space button gets pressed on the BB when I am pushing it into the case causing the phone screen to come up. And I still have to use both hands most of the time to push the BB far enough down into the case to activate the magnet. Not what I would call a user friendly solution.

I think the 7520 is probably the exception to the 05150 case... it is the thickest BB. We recommend the 05505-024 on our site for the 7520
