i did a remove search and also belt clip. not being a run of the mill nerd i dont want to walk around with it clipped to my belt. i want to slip it into my jacket pocket or jeans pocket with just the holster protecting it. any way to do this? an y product that works

there are holsters/pouches available without a clip. Not promoting but pretty sure i saw one on this site. Not sure what model you have but there are others on this site that recommends/works with other vendors:

You can bend the metal "spring" by sticking a screwdriver behind it and bending up. Then it will fall out. Then you can slide the clip to the side to remove it and then pinch the part that retains the rest of the clip and pull it out.
